E-Books Available in the Sladen Library Catalog

Have you taken a look at the Sladen Library online catalog lately? As more relevant full text online books become available we are adding them to our online catalog. The easiest way to search for electronic books is by using the Power Search feature as shown in the example below.

Using the drop down box for Type, you can limit your search to books that are available as electronic full text online by selecting the “Electronic” limiter. Then, use the appropriate search boxes to search by author, title or keyword using the words or phrase drop down box.

Another way to access our e-books is found on the webpage shown below.

Navigate to this page by clicking on Books under the Resources heading (found on the left hand side of the page) and then clicking on the link for Sladen Electronic Books. Enter your keywords in the Google-like search box. This search box is set to limit your results to electronic books. To access the full text click on the chain link that looks like a link of a chain . An example to search for is “pretest.” This will bring up a number of titles frequently used for review on various topics. Since you are searching with keywords, searching again using “self assessment” or “review” will bring up additional similar texts. Occasionally there will be more than one icon for the full text and clicking one of the icons will only display an electronic table of contents.

If you scroll further down on this webpage you will see a list of our most frequently used online books. Clicking on the title will take you directly to the online version.

Not finding what you are looking for? You can submit a book request by filling out this form. http://www.henryfordconnect.com/sladen.cfm?id=754. Navigate to the form page by clicking on the Forms & Feedback link found under the Services heading located on the left margin of every Sladen webpage. We will try to add your request to our collection. Please note that not all books are available electronically.
