Sladen recently purchased a large collection of more than 900 electronic textbooks from Springer Science+Business Media, a major STM publisher. The collection covers all medical disciplines and includes:

The books are available through Sladen’s online catalog. To locate our electronic books:
1. Go to the main Sladen web page at http://henryfordconnect.com/sladen and click on the link to the “Sladen Library Catalog”
2. Click on “Power Search”
3. Search for your topic (e.g. dermatology) and select “Electronic” from the Type pull-down menu.
4. Click on the link icon to link to the eBook.
In addition to the new collection from Springer, Sladen also provides access to electronic textbooks through Ovid, StatRef, and MDConsult. These can be accessed directly though the individual interfaces or by searching for a specific title in the Sladen Library Catalog.

Would you like to share your research interests and publications with colleagues or have an easy way to update your CV or portfolio? If so, ResearcherID may be for you!
ResearcherID is a product from Thomson Reuters that works in conjunction with products such as EndNote, RefMan, ISI Web of Science and other reference management software. It allows you to:
1. Collate citations to your publications in an online format so that they can be easily shared with colleagues via a simple URL (you could attach this via a blog, web site, or in your email signature line)
2. Monitor citation metrics if you have published in a journal that is indexed by ISI Web of Science
3. View a visual representation of up to 20 co-authors with whom a particular researcher is collaborating
4. See up to 20 authors that have cited a particular publication

Introducing the Walkstation - A Healthy Step in the Right Direction

Located in Sladen Library, on K-17, the Walkstation is available on a walk-in basis Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-7:30pm, and Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. It was purchased by the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and dedicated to the memory of Dr. Ron Davis.
The Walkstation was designed by Dr. James A. Levine, of the Mayo Clinic. Read Dr. Levine's article on NEAT - Non-exercise Activity Thermogenesis - which describes how our everyday activities affect our energy expenditure and body weight in the Journal of Internal Medicine (2007) 262:273-287.
